Our agents own and ride horses.
If you know, you KNOW. Horses require a variety of skills that real estate agents put to use. Horse owners tend to have strong work ethic, leadership, and communication skills. Horses are complex creatures, each with their own unique personalities and needs. As a result, they can sometimes be unpredictable and require us to be problem solvers.
Our Agents
Arlene Williams

Arlene has had a lifelong passion for horses. She knows the difference between a drilled and a bored well, between tied and welded horse fencing, what it takes to maintain graveled roads, and how often you need to bush hog. She has 50+ acres, fenced, with pasture, paddocks, 3 wells, and her horses.
She is active in the local horse community. As VP and a Show Manager at the Kel-Mac Saddle Club, member of AAHC, and a dedicated volunteer at ReDux Rescue, she is committed to the equestrian life and continues to hone her riding skills. After a professional career as a producer and a corporate program manager, she moved home to Athens in 2018 and began her real estate career with Cindy Karp Realty. Wishing to blend her equine expertise with top-tier real estate service, she moved to partner with Athens Area Horse Properties. Now she can leverage her understanding of equine needs and the expansive network of the Athens Area Horse Community to offer unparalleled service.

Amanda McCoy

Amanda started Athens Area Horse Community over a decade ago to connect to the other horse people in the greater Athens area. She was a local horse trainer and farm services provider prior to making AAHC her full time job in June 2021. She is passionate about dressage, but also enjoys trail riding, jumping, working eq, and foxhunting. Educating kids is a high priority for her, and she works with Oconee 4-H as the horse team coach.
Amanda was raised in a barn, literally. Her mother has been a professional trainer for decades and offers lessons. She especially loves teaching those who are working to regain confidence. Amanda’s father gave her a head for business, which provided her with the knowledge, experience, and outright moxie to take the risk on creating and building AAHC.
Amanda began her real estate career in 2021 and founded Athens Area Horse Properties in 2022, to follow her passion for bringing horse people to the area to grow the local horse community. She loves not only helping her clients buy and sell property, but also being a connector for them once the deal is done. She has a wide network of resources that she is happy to share and she can’t wait to meet new people to ride with in her favorite spaces. Most importantly, Amanda has a flare for negotiation and is passionate about advocating for her clients’ needs and making the best deals happen.
